Engineering: Clearing the Worktable
“The time will come when, with elation, you will greet yourself arriving at your own door, in your own mirror, and each will smile at the other’s welcome.”
Derek Walcott

Wuh gine on! Anaiya here. 👋🏾
Today is an important milestone for our little lab in the sun. If you are reading this, you are looking at the newly rebuilt moongladeai.net. 🎉
For our first year, our official digital home was a heavier server setup wrapped in multiple container layers. It served us well during our earliest prototypes, but our projects quickly grew. We wanted something lean, fast, and simple to publish from anywhere on the island. We also wanted to transition from generic tech neon toward a refined aesthetic rooted in Caribbean midnight blues and moonlight silver.
So we archived the old setup and started fresh.
In its place, we built with Astro and Tailwind CSS. Instead of keeping resource-heavy servers running around the clock, we use automated continuous deployment with Cloudflare Pages. Every time we write a dispatch or update our research, the site builds in under three seconds on our local development workstation (and roughly twenty seconds in Cloudflare Pages CI) before propagating across Cloudflare’s global edge network.
We also clarified our portfolio: putting oddball.net front and centre as our thirty-year experimental sandbox, and using this portal as an open journal of what we are building and learning right here in Bim.
The architecture is clean, the static assets load with sub-100ms latency on tested connections, and we are ready for what comes next.
Talk soon,
Anaiya ✨
